Qualifying MLM Prospects: A Few Personality Traits To Look For

Wouldn't you like to know ahead of time if someone that you are going to sponsor into your Network Marketing business was worth sponsoring ahead of time? Of course, I'd like to think all of us would. It is essential that we comprehend that everyone that is breathing and has a pulse is not a prospect. They should have a few personality traits that we can spot off the bat in order to get a better idea of whether or not they are going to do what it takes in order to be successful or just be a complete waste of our precious time.

So here are a few things to ask yourself when you are qualifying MLM prospects:

1) Ask yourself, are they a leader? I'm not saying that they need to be the next Gandhi, Teddy Roosevelt or any other of the momentous leaders throughout history but are they going to be able to overcome adversity and challenges in order to achieve the task at hand.

2) One of my favorite college basketball commentators, Bill Raftery, uses the term stick-to-it-ive-ness for persistence. 90% of our marketing efforts are not going to get results. Are they going to stick it out to discover the 10% that gets 90% of the results and not give up before they do?

3) Are they coachable and willing to learn? Duplication is what makes the wheels go round in Network Marketing. Can you coach them in order to duplicate success and will they be able to pass their learnings on to their team once they have the pieces in place?

4) Do they have other skill sets? I'm going to use Daegan Smith and Mike Dillard in this example. Not only are these two guys a pair of the best in the Network Marketing industry, Daegan was also an accomplished NCAA wrestler at Duke university and Dillard won 2 state championships as a mountain biker. Hey, a winner is a winner.

5) In one of my past posts I said the number one thing a prospect ought to have is the will to win. They have to be passionate in reaching their own goals and living their own dreams. If they do not have the burning desire to succeed, what are you going to do? It can't be installed into a person. If someone's passion and true desire is set at 100%, then they understand that it's not a matter of IF they will succeed but WHEN.

These are just a few personality traits to look for when you are making connections with the people that you are looking to do business with and there are plenty more. It's probably safe to say that while all the prospects that you are talking to will not have all of these things going for them but if they do, Jackpot! Just a few things to think about when you are trying to separate the leaders from the "tire-kickers" who are just looking for an easy way out.
